About This Course

Are you annoyed of doing everything at the last minute? Or do you want to change your learning process and improve your marks due to this? If this is the case for you, take part in our learning strategies training ELIS and become an expert for learning! ELIS is an E-Learning tool, which was specifically created to make learning more efficient and effective. Thus, our training consists of different interesting learning texts and videos, which you can work on whenever it suits you. You can work on it easily on your computer, laptop or tablet with Firefox or Chrome. If you want to use the learning materials in public – e.g., at the university or the library – do not forget that you need headphones. The training itself is adaptive. This means, it is adapting itself to your personally knowledge. The training consists of a learning and a strengthening part. You are going to need about 90 minutes for the learning part. The strengthening part takes place one week later and lasts about 20 minutes. After finishing both parts, you are going to get access to all the materials again so that you are able to have a look at everything which interests you. Have fun!

Before you start ELIS, we want to give you an overview of the E-Learning training so that you know what you can expect: Our training consists of three big topics, which are relevant for learning: resource-based strategies, cognitive strategies, and metacognitive strategies. During the training, you are going to read texts and answer small practice questions to consolidate your knowledge on how you can apply the strategies. For consolidation, you are going to get the same questions one week later once again. The second retrieval does not take long but is very import to consolidate your knowledge longtermly. Afterwards, you are going to have free access to all the material. Pictures and graphics are used to represent the content you are going to learn. The different section are short, thus you are not going to need more than 2 hours for the whole training.
